Head of Architecture

The Architecture group is part of the Architecture, Cross and Data Department.

The group is responsible for building the architecture and technological vision for the entire 888 platform. This is accomplished by exploring new technologies, initiating technological projects, influencing early stages in cross company projects, and building an architectural vision.

In addition, the Architecture group is responsible for defining, designing, and creating architectural infrastructure to a variety of systems. This is achieved by technological guidelines creation for new systems/components and identifying and analyzing optimization areas.

The architects are also responsible for new technologies and techniques research POCs management and implementation (Hands On).

The Head of Architecture is responsible for managing the company's architects, designing organizational architecture on an enterprise level.

The Head of Architecture takes part in creating strategies and policies to meet overall business goals, overseeing implementations of architecture system, and advising adjustments to top managements.

The Head of Architecture's level is Director and he/she reports directly to VP Data Cross & Architecture.

The Head of Architecture manages a group of 10+ architects with sub-management and has a broader function in the division.

As an Head of Architecture at 888 you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a large group of architects divided into 2 groups: Solution Architecture and Enterprise Architecture, including group leadership and team-building initiatives.
  • Creating the enterprise architecture vision of the company and the Company’s technological roadmap according to the business needs. 
  • Collaborating with Business Executives, Architecture, Delivery & Product teams to define and execute the architectural strategy for 888.
  • Leading enterprise data governance initiatives. Ensuring domain driven data architecture evolution.
  • Managing architecture discussions with global teams operating in an Agile / Scrum delivery model.
  • Driving global organizational change, balancing business requirements with IT initiatives, and providing technical leadership.
  • Comprehending business strategies and requirements. Developing necessary designs and plans to ensure projects and solutions satisfy those needs
  • Leading architecture discussions with global teams operating in an Agile / Scrum delivery model.
  • Working closely with R&D managers and the IT Department in planning technological solutions, support of the development process, introducing new technologies and instructions for physical implementation.
  • Working with 3rd party service providers and communicating with vendors, regulators, other operators.
  • Assisting with optimization and scalability improvement efforts.
  • Join ad-hoc teams / production incident / bugs meetings to provide swift support and solutions for major projection issues / potential problems.
  • Researching and investigation of new and existing technologies, as well as examining their compatibility with the Company.
  • Guiding, consulting and training various teams and parties in the Product Technologies Division and in the B2B and B2C Divisions, while maintaining a long term systematic and cross-organizational vision.

This job is for you only if you have:

  • At least 5 years of experience as an architecture manager and / or as a CTO group management.
  • 5+ years of senior managerial experience.
  • In-depth familiarity with complex development systems withing large, global organizations
  • Strong leadership skills and team-building skills
  • Presentation and guiding skills; able to convey messages effectively.
  • Very high inter-personal communication skills and matrix management skills; able to work with multiple interfaces in the Company, drive and motivate them.
  • High analyzing and thinking skills and abilities; able to find creative, out-of-the-box solutions. 
  • Technical Experience with high volume systems and designing solutions for reliability and performance at scale.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ equivalent technical IDF service (Mamram/8200 etc.’)

Technologies (advantage of having experience in few of them):

  • Streaming architectures including cost analysis, performance tuning, and quality of service concerns.
  • Decomposing monolithic service(s) to microservices and implementing relevant infrastructure
  • Frontend development including web and native technologies, JavaScript, micro-frontend, mobile, content management, debugging and monitoring front-ends and more.
  • Experience with working with public cloud (AWS is big advantage) – working with managed Kubernetes (EKS, GKS, AKS), serverless solutions, Firebase, and other managed services.
  • Experience with CICD pipelines and platforms, git flow, etc.
